Lime green fronds with a distinctive and interesting growth habit make these Aussie gems a definite addition to the shade garden.

Bird’s Nest Ferns have long, undivided, bright green fronds with wavy edges which can grow up to 2m in ideal conditions. The ‘nest’ in the centre of the plant catches organic matter which breaks down and provides nutrients.

They are quite often seen in bushland and rainforest areas.

The Bird’s Nest Fern can be grown in the open in a sheltered, fairly shady spot. Soil should be well drained and contain plenty of organic matter.
