Peperomia Plant description
Peperomias are a very large group of plants that are primarily grown indoors in Australia’s eastern states.
The most commonly available varieties grow to a height of about 20cm and produce waxy looking leaves in various shapes and sizes. Some have a compact growth habit while others are more trailing. Leaves can be smooth to deeply ridged in a multitude of colours.
Narrow greenish-white flower spikes appear in late Spring and Summer.
Climate
Sub-tropical, tropical. Indoors in other areas.
Plant cultivation and care
Peperomias do well in an indoors position with indirect light. No direct sun. Water them regularly during the warmer months and allow to dry out slightly between waterings in Winter. These plants like to feel snug in the pot so choose a pot that is only slightly bigger than the root ball.
