Rice Flower description
Native to Western Australia, Pimelea ferruginea is the most commonly grown of the Pimelea species.
It is an evergreen shrub which reaches around 1m high by 1.5m wide, forming a mound shape. It has a compact, bushy growth habit with oval, glossy green leaves.
During Spring and Summer, lovely heads of pink tubular flowers appear that butterflies find very attractive. There are various cultivars available which produce deep pink, magenta, cream or white flowers.
