Clivia plant description
This genus consists of only a few species of perennials, the most common and most popular being Clivia miniata.
This clumping plant has thick, strap-like leaves which are deep green in colour. These leaves can be 7-8cm wide. The plant itself is approximately 50cm high. Older plants can be easily propagated by division after flowering.
Attractive, funnel shaped orange flowers appear in Spring in dense umbels at the end of the flower stems. These flowers are usually followed by noticeable dark red berry type fruits.
Many cultivars are been created over the years including cream and yellow flowering forms.
