- Deadhead Camellias and any other Winter flowering plants. Give them a prune.
- Feed and nurture your lawns so they’re ready to go when the warmer weather hits. Now is the time to remove Bindii if you have it.
- Protect any new or vulnerable plants from the strong August winds
- Keep an eye out for aphids and other nasties, especially on new growth
- Plant summer blooming bulbs such as Amaryllis, liliums, gladioli, dahlias, Calla lillies and Hippeastrums.
- Give your Daphne plant a light prune
- Prune long flowering roses in cooler areas and anywhere else if it hasn’t been done already
- Feed Winter flowering natives such as Acacias, Banksias, Grevilleas and Hardenbergia
- Plant citrus trees late this month to allow as much growth as possible during the warmer months. Wait if your area is still experiencing frosts.
